Pus discharge is a symptom of a disease, such as a sexually transmitted disease (STD) or urinary tract infection. This condition is usually accompanied by other complaints, namely pain in the penis or pain when urinating. 1. Gonorrhea or gonorrhea
Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease caused by the bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

If proven to be affected by NGU, the doctor can provide treatment with antibiotics. Some antibiotic choices commonly used to treat NGU are doxycycline, azithromycin, metronidazole, and moxifloxacin.
3. Balanitis
Balanitis is an infection or inflammation of the head and foreskin of the penis. The cause can be bacterial or fungal infections to allergic or skin irritation around the penis head. This disease can occur due to hygiene of the penis that is not maintained. Balanitis is also more at risk for uncircumcised men.
In addition to pus out of the penis, other symptoms of balantis are dry penile skin accompanied by itching, pain, and swelling in the skin around the base of the penis. To treat balanitis, the doctor will usually prescribe an ointment in the form of antigatal creams, antifungals, and antibiotics.
4. Chlamydia
Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection caused by Chlamydia trachomatis. Symptoms of chlamydia include pus discharge or greenish fluid accompanied by pain when urinating, itching around the penis hole, and pain in one or both testicles.
Just like sexually transmitted diseases due to other bacterial infections, this disease needs to be treated with antibiotics.
5. Penile cancer
Penile cancer is a rare type of cancer that occurs in the skin and penis area. Symptoms include:
- The penis comes out of pus or foul-smelling liquid.
- Lumps appear on the penis.
- Injury to the penis that does not heal within four weeks.
- Rash or redness on the penis.
- Bleeding from the penis or from under the foreskin.
- Thickening of the skin of the penis or foreskin which makes it difficult to pull back (phimosis).
- Discoloration of the skin of the penis or foreskin.
Treatment of penile cancer depends on the area affected and the level of spread of the cancer. Treatment of penile cancer can be sought with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery.
Prevention of Penis Exit Pus
To avoid diseases that can cause the penis to discharge, you need to apply the following preventative measures:
- Do not change sexual partners.
- Use a condom when having sex.
